CAN I MEET WITH YOU IN PERSON OR ONLY ONLINE?

Currently my private practice is open online only. Although I cannot perform Ayurvedic pulse readings in this setting, using video chat I am still able to ascertain important information about both your Ayurvedic constitution and your current health status from a nutrition perspective. 

WHERE DO I MEET YOU ONLINE?

 We will meet on a HIPPA compliant (totally private and secure) video conferencing platform called "Practice Better." You will receive a link for your personal video chat with Megan on an appointment confirmation email from Practice Better. Additionally, you may access your chat room through your Practice Better dashboard when signed into your account. Megan will meet you at the start of your appointment. 

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

For video chat to work you will need a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection and updated browser. If you do not have the equipment necessary for video conferencing or if technology fails, the default will be a phone call.  At the time of your appointment, please ensure that you are in a space without excess noise or distraction. Preferably you can situate yourself in a private area where you can speak freely without interruption. Public spaces are discouraged so as to maintain the confidentiality of your health concerns. If you are using a laptop, please place it on a surface that is steady during our consultation. Additionally, to be most efficient with our time together please prepare a list of questions you would like to discuss at the time of your appointment.

HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO WORK WITH YOU?

It depends on the complexity of the health condition you are wanting to address. Some conditions require more of a long-term focus and others are resolved more quickly. Generally, my clients work with me for about 6 months to 1 year, and others on an ongoing basis for maintenance. After our first consult together, once I’ve gotten to know your history in depth, I can give you my best estimate for the timeline we can expect given your unique presentation, level of commitment and resources.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO WORK WITH YOU?

It depends! What I see most often is that at the beginning my clients tend to benefit from visits about every 3-6 weeks to attain good momentum and progress towards their goals. However, if you are a person who enjoys regular support and accountability you may decide to do appointments every 1-2 weeks for 1/2 hour visits. Sometimes visits of greater frequency but less duration can really help keep you on target, especially as you're first starting out. Either way, after therapeutic goals are met and stabilized, generally we will not need to meet as regularly. We may decide to meet every 3-6 months for maintenance, support and making adjustments to your already well-established routine. Bottom line is that we will decide together what seems best for YOU considering your goals, progress, motivation and resources.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

At this time I am not contracted with any insurance companies. However, I would be happy to provide a superbill with previously established diagnoses made by your doctor and CPT codes that detail an online medical nutrition therapy visit. Simply request this at your visit and it will be provided, along with any recommendations, at the conclusion of our consultation. However, please FIRST check with your insurance company on the coverage they offer for: (1) out-of-network nutrition (2) licensed nutrition professionals who are not registered dietitians (this may vary by state) and (3) nutrition visits that are conducted via telehealth. Please verify all these elements before relying on reimbursement from your insurance company for our visits. Receiving a superbill from me does not in any way guarantee any coverage from your insurance company. 

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS ON YOUR SERVICES?

Yes! Each established client of mine receives an automatic 10% discount off the retail cost of all professional grade supplements recommended through my online dispensary. I also provide a 10% discount for consultation to full-time students with ID, retired seniors over the age of 70 and active participants of the Soulful Conceptions online fertility program. Finally, I do offer consulting package(s) that are typically 10% off and offer payment plan/installment options for no extra cost. Overall, I aim to keep my services at an affordable rate so they can be accessible to those who need them. Please contact me if any discounted service applies to you so that I can provide you with the appropriate code to use at check-out.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY CONSULT?

Payment is collected at the time of booking. All major credit cards are accepted and your information is kept secure. Bookings are made available through my online practice management software called Practice Better. Credit card payments are processed through Stripe. You will be prompted to pay for your visit at the time of your booking.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

You will be always be provided with an email reminder of your appointment 2 days prior to your visit. I understand that scheduling appointments in advance, things can come up. What I ask is that you please provide notice of your cancellation within 48 hours of your visit and no less than 24 hours prior to your visit. If notice is received within this timeframe, you will be refunded the entirety of the cost of your pre-paid visit. Please know that when you schedule an appointment with me I spend time reviewing your labs and history as well as any previous recommendations I’ve made for you in order to prepare for our visit. I also block off my schedule to make sure I am available for you at the time you’ve selected. Less than 24 hours of notice for cancellation places me in a position that compromises my time and efforts. Therefore, if less than 24 hours notice is given for a cancellation, you will be responsible for the entirety of the cost of your pre-paid visit regardless of your attendance. YOUR AVAILABILITY IS LIMITED, WHY?

I work full time at a very busy Functional Medicine clinic in my local area. There, I have a substantial client load providing medical nutrition therapy and education in 1:1 and in group settings. Therefore, I maintain my online personal private practice as a very part-time endeavor to nourish my own creativity and expand my offerings outside of my local area. Clients who I see in my private practice generally present with complex medical conditions and are highly motivated and truly committed to transforming their health. To maintain top quality care for these clients I do have limited slots available. Furthermore, it is important that as your healthcare provider, I continue to ‘walk my talk’ and keep a healthy, balanced schedule myself. That is why you may see my private practice availability lessen if my schedule picks up at the local clinic or elsewhere in my personal life. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

WHERE AND HOW DO I GET THE SUPPLEMENTS YOU RECOMMEND?
